Today we are featuring a guest blog post from our Digital Controller, Fran. Fran works in the web department for Berlei and Berlei’s sister brand Gossard. She does the social media posts for both brands, creates the email newsletters you receive, uploads all the new products to the websites and creates new imagery to keep the websites up to date! Time to hand over our blog!
I’m Fran, I work for Berlei and Gossard in the web department! Today I am going to talk about my Pretty Muddy Challenge!
First of all, I will hold my hands up and say exercise is not my thing! I got through phases of going to the gym and swimming lots and then a large gap of not exercising….but walking around shopping counts…right? I have done one charity run before raising money for St Ormond’s Street Hospital. In a team of ten, we raised over £1,000 and it was a great experience. I enjoyed training for it as it was in the summer so there was no excuse after work not go for a run when the sun was shining. So when a close friend told me she was doing the Pretty Muddy run in July and asked if I wanted to join…I accepted the challenge! How could I not get behind a fantastic charity such as Cancer Research UK!
At the finishing line at the ‘Race of the Kids’ 5KM run
My training actually starts this week….eek! With the weather looking so great, it really is a good motivation for me, like most people…I spend my working day at a desk in front of two computer screens so it will be great to enjoy the fresh air, sunshine and hopefully the run! Of course my main motivation is the charity. We have all been affected by cancer in someway, a relative, a friend…even on the news hearing stories of survivors, patients seeking groundbreaking treatments as well as famous actors or musicians passing away from this horrible disease. I was shocked to hear that every two minute in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. That is a stat that you can’t really ignore. Along with people battling cancer and survivors, I will be running in tribute of my grandma who passed away from cancer when I was growing up.
Over the next two months, I will be reviewing two of Berlei’s new sportswear bras. First I will be reviewing the High Performance Underwired Bra in Prowl and the Electrify Underwired Print Bra in Fern Fronts Orchid. I could not resist the prints on both of these sports bras and they both felt so appropriate as pink is the brand colour for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and as they have said ‘Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman in Pink’
I will be back later in the month with my review of the High Performance Underwired Bra!
